Sullivan Thompson

SULLIVAN THOMPSON MASONRY & RESTORATION is proud to have been a full-service restoration specialist on many of the most historically significant buildings in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have deep knowledge of and always work within the guidelines of the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings. We work on a wide scope of restoration ranging from the more basic production-oriented tasks to projects of greater artistic and technical complexity. Projects which have been among the most technically demanding in the region include San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts, The Jewish Museum, Sacramento Library, the Rialto Building, Oakland’s Fox Theatre, the Wayne Thiebaud Mosaic Restoration, and the legendary Pied Piper Bar at the Palace Hotel.

Founded in 2004, Sullivan Thompson Masonry & Restoration is a well-respected and highly sought-after restoration contractor specializing in the repair, restoration and preservation of brick, window, terra cotta, stone, concrete, plaster and stucco repairs, as well as graffiti removal. We work with preservation architects, engineers, general contractors, owners’ representatives, and property managers to ensure that the highest quality product is delivered to the owner. Clients include General Services Administration, the National Park Service, Stanford University, University of San Francisco, University of California-Berkeley, and PG&E.

Deborah Blake

President

Deborah Blake is the founder and President of Sullivan Thompson Masonry & Restoration. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California and opened its doors in 2004. She grew up on the granite bound coast of Mount Desert Island, Maine, home of the glacier scoured mountains of Acadia National Park where you will find highly crafted stone churches, barns, and carriage houses. These design forms and the materials used throughout the park were the catalyst for her passion for preservation, and that led Deborah into the field of architectural restoration.

Deborah’s background is in construction management and architectural design. In 1986, she went to work for a large general contracting company in the Bay Area and became part of the team to restore the Palace Hotel in 1990. The skilled craftsmanship found in the field inspired Deborah to open her own restoration company. She has worked in the industry in various capacities for over 35 years and has extensive experience and perspective as both a General Contractor and a Subcontractor in the field of restoration.
